What I want to be when I grow up

I can never make up my mind on things. I do so many things I enjoy that many people don't know about. I would like to say I'm an artistic kind of person, at least I think I am. But I can never just stay with one thing. I play music, I can sing, I like photography, scrapbooking, I sew, I like gardening (not in the desert), drawing, I even quilt. I'm not necessarily good at all of these things, but I do enjoy it.

For the last two years I've been playing World of Warcraft. I am also a gamer. Taking a break from it has opened up so many possibilities for me. I've found I don't have to sit on the game every waking hour of the day. There are so much other things to do. So I limit myself, maybe one day a week dedicated to playing MMO's. Or maybe one or two hours late at night. The rest of the time I have to do things I didn't have the time to do before.

I would probably do well as a craft instructor or some sort of music teacher, maybe working at a fabric/craft store. I could see myself doing stuff like that, not that I want to do that. Only thing is, I focus on more alternative styles, or the darker side of life. Conservative people beware!

I have always had the idea of becoming a photographer since i was just a kid. I took photography in high school and learned basic techniques. I wanted to take the next classes but since you could only have one elective, I was forced to take the Pregnant Teen Mother class instead.

When my husband deployed for the military one year, I really got into the idea that I should take pictures of myself and send them to him. I'm not talking about everyday pictures, and I'm not talking hardcore porn either. Boudoir pictures, pinup style, semi-nude, but tasteful pictures. Unfortunately, it's very hard to take pictures of yourself without proper equipment. There are lots of people that want to have pictures of themselves like this to keep for themselves, or send to their loved ones. I also like to take those other types of mysterious, dark, spooky pictures. Graveyard types of pictures, renaissance, ethereal, fantasy maybe. I wish there was some sort of class or lecture or lesson for this kind of stuff.

Since I am in Las Vegas now and there are more people here then there was in Wyoming, I don't think it will be too difficult to find people that want to have pictures of themselves taken. Maybe other military spouses whose husbands have deployed, or getting ready to deploy, or maybe just that special occasion. I would do it all for free, since it is a hobby and I'm not a pro. I just need a new camera and I'm good. I have an old digital SLR but it only has 2 mega pixels. Not good! What if I want to posterize something? It will just be a blurry thing.

I've always wanted to try the scrapbooking thing as something I do often. But what is up with all this pastel, paisley crap? My mind is not butterflies and rainbows here. I made my husband a beautiful scrap book that he took with him to Honduras for a year. It's ok for a beginner type. Not too extreme like what I want to do. My girls each made a page for him and it is really nice.

But I was thinking I'm going to start doing some "Gothic Scrapbooking." I talked about it before with one of the girls I work with. She likes scrapbooking too, but we are not rays of sunshine. We work at Hot Topic. Black is a nice color, skulls and bats are cute. So are fluffy cats, but that's not the point. I want to do alternative scrapbooking. Too bad scrapping stores don't carry blood and gore.

I should post on some Vegas forums or bulletin boards at craft places to see if there are other people that are interested in having some sort of get together, maybe we can have tea and crumpets. Maybe right after that risque photo shoot! We could throw all those naughty pictures together and make a scrapbook.

I need more like minded individuals...
