It was a combination of Douchebag Larry's baby shower and reading over old blogs that I have finally found something to do with my time that is creative and edgy and doesn't require making a huge mess. I saw Dre, my "girlfriend", and every time we get together we talk about starting a Gothic Scrapbooking circle. Of course, it would be more of an alternative type of scrapbooking, we just like to call it gothic cause it sounds way cooler.
If you go back and read over my "what I want to be when I grow up" blog, you'll see that I do have a crafty type of personality, even if I am all about vaginas and dead things. So, I have been doing some web browsing with keywords like "gothic scrapbooking" and "alternative scrapbooking." It doesn't pull up lots of pages, maybe just a few, including my own blogs and myspace postings.
I came across many websites for digital scrapbooking and read up on how these dedicated scrapbookers were turning to their digital cameras and a fancy photo editing program to create their own cyber scrapbooks. If you browse through some of these pages that people have created, some of them look pretty good, even if they are all daisies and buttercups and countless pictures of their teething babies.
What the hell, I tried it out. I downloaded a few free digital kits that most websites have and a trial edition of a fancy graphics program. It was a little complicating at first. I did quite a bit of researching and tutorial watching before I made my first page. No blood, no gore, but its not pink and pastel either.
It was a little time consuming, but I think it turned out alright. It is relatively easy if you know what you're doing I guess. I think the hardest part is crediting all the sources of where you got all the fancy crap you put into it.

And on that note, I think I'll just create a new blog for my "Gothic Scrapbooking."
