Back To The Blog

Now that the munchkin has calmed down, I can get back to business. Well not really business, just peace and quiet, which is something we don't get much of these days. As I write this blog, I am hand pushing my almost 2 month old niece in a swing that doesn't swing hard enough apparently.

Here is the story....
My cousin lived in Chicago with her boyfriend and his family and she called me one day because she was pregnant, didn't know what to do and lived in a very bad area. So I offered for her and her boyfriend to come to Vegas and stay with us until they could get back on their feet. This was back in September. Last month they became parents to a whopping 10 lb baby girl named Kaleani.

Now that they are quite settled, they are out and about today looking for jobs so that they can find their own place. I know it won't be very long before Michael will not be able to take it anymore. They do not pay rent, do not pay utilities or anything like that, which I really don't expect them to do at this time. Michael thinks they should.

Now we have a situation. Our landlord is raising our rent and we need to get out of this house as soon as we can. This house is ok, but thats about it. It's too expensive to buy and definitely going to be too expensive to rent. We could get a nicer house for the amount we pay right now. We could definitely buy a house also with the prices so low right now. This is all fine, except I really don't want to move and make our considerations around a family of 7. With me and the hubbie and the girls, we could probably be comfortable in a 2 or 3 bedroom house with less square footage, definitely less in utilities. But that can't happen if we move right now. There are lots of things in the house we need to get rid of!
