Almost done!

I haven't really been posting anything in my blogs, except for my mobile blog. I am still on vacation in Hawaii. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. I have less than a week left here. I think we've been here long enough. I got to see my oldest daughter that I miss very much, she's grown up so much. I have seen my family and had nice long conversations with them. I met up with a few of my very good friends and hope to meet a few more, although I know I won't.

The first thing I noticed when I stepped off of the plane and out of the airport terminal is the smell. Hawaii has the nicest smell. Definitely a good change from smelling the air in Las Vegas, which is very comparable to dirt. There are so many things that amazes me when I see it. The beaches are so nice here. The weather is hot and humid, but bearable and it is a nice change. There is always a cool breeze blowing and of course that sweet smell. I remember why I never really used lotion here, my skin is so soft because of the moisture in the air. Oh the rain, I miss Hawaii rain. You can run around and play in the rain without worrying about getting struck by lightning. I even miss the water here. Not just the beach water, I miss the tap water. Never too cold and always good to drink straight out of the pipes.

There's always the bad things about a place, but I really don't mind most of it since I have lived with them for over 20 years. I never fail to pick up that pigeon english accent whenever I talk to my grandma on the phone. Can you imagine me here? I was never very fond of the pigeon accent, no offense to everyone here but, I think it sounds stupid. But of course, I catch myself talking like that too.

Then there is all the critters that run around. I am so used to not having them around. Definitely had to adjust the girls to them. Lizards, geckos, roaches and ants mostly, I still don't mind.

Sweat! So much sweating here! The weather is nice but I could do without sweating like a pig.

I'm glad I got to bring the girls to Hawaii to see what it's all about. My girls don't want to leave. They want to live here. It probably won't happen. We'll be back though. We did get those free tickets, so when Michael gets back from his "vacation" in Iraq, we'll be thinking of taking another trip to Hawaii.
